Obverse Portrait of Andrew Barton “Banjo” Paterson (1864-1941), was an Australian bush poet, journalist and author, Running Horses (Brumbies) and horseman – inspired by the poem “The Man From Snowy River” (written 1890 by “Banjo” Paterson), Waltzing Matilda logo taken from the 1903 publication of Marie Cowan’s arrangement of “Banjo” Paterson’s Waltzing Matilda, and Extract from the manuscript of “The Man from Snowy River”, in Paterson’s own handwriting, which is held in the manuscripts section of the State Library of New South Wales
