Watermark Carved head of the “Sleeping Giant” by artist George Gabb, Belize´s most celebrated artistic masterpiece to date located at the National Institute of Culture & History (NICH) and electrotype “TWENTY”.
Security features Watermark. Consecutively running red vertical and black horizontal ascending serial numbers on the obverse side of the banknote. Registration device (see-through feature), which, when held up to the light, forms the complete forms the complete design of the head of the Tapir (Tapirus bairdii), national animal of Belize. Parts of banknote (jabiru bird, central reverse and the denomination block), the vertical serial number and invisible security fibers fluoresce while exposed to an ultraviolet light. Segmented, windowed 1 mm wide security thread that displays repetitive text “BELIZE”.
