| Comment | The notes were printed in China, and were released when the Khmer Rouge forces occupied Phnom Pehn. From here there is some disagreement. Some sources state that the notes were exchanged by sympathetic soldiers while others state that the notes were destroyed having never been issued. Some eyewitness accounts shared that some zones the notes were distributed, but regardless the notes were useless as Democratic Kampuchea, as the state would be know, destroyed all vestiges of capitalism and money in all forms was outlawed. |
