Obverse | The Great Sphinx of Giza, commonly know simply as Sphinx, is the oldest known monumental sculpture in Egypt and is commonly believed to have been constructed by ancient Egyptians during the reign of Pharaoh Khafre (c. 2558–2532 BC).
The three Egyptian pyramids here represented are the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, located in the same site of the Great Sphinx of Giza. |
