| Comment | Francisco Vicente Aguilera was a Cuban landowner, possibly the richest on the eastern region of Cuba, that he inherited from his father, but owing to his studies and travels, had ideas against monarch system, against slavery and was preoccupied about the life conditions of his countrymen.
Aguilera participated in the first Cuban uprisings towards gaining independence from colonial regime, and he spent most of his fortune supporting the revolutionary movement. |
